<\/a><\/p>\nFirst and foremost was my inability to shut the camera flash off..which proved rather embarrassing when I heard a couple on a moonlight neighborhood walk, giggling at me as I stood on my front deck aiming my camera phone into the heavens using the flash as if hoping to further illuminate \u00a0an object 286 thousand miles away.<\/p>\n
I finally figured out how to shut the flash off..but couldn\u2019t hold the camera steady enough at full zoom to get anything but a blur. Well, you\u2019re seeing my best effort which, when looking at the shots others have posted, is really lame by comparison.<\/p>\n
Well, don\u2019t you have a \u201creal\u201d camera, Doug?<\/p>\n
Yes, I do but couldn\u2019t find the new one my kids gave me and the old Kodak sitting on my desk didn\u2019t have a charge. Besides, improvements in camera technology has made my Motorola Turbo phone a pretty darn good alternative which came to light while trying to take a few shots of the music concert Linda and I attended at the Premier Center Friday night.<\/p>\n
I know there have been some impressive music acts at the Events Center since its opening but nothing has tripped my \u201cmust see and hear\u201d trigger like the appearance of \u201cChicago.\u201d I\u2019ve loved that group since its inception and if you put \u201cEarth, Wind and Fire\u201d on the same billing..well, who needs a Supermoon with that kind of star power lighting up the huge stage? It was just a terrific experience musically and visually.<\/p>\n Now if I hear that \u201cBlood, Sweat and Tears\u201d is performing nearby..we\u2019ll be looking to buy a pair of tickets.<\/p>\n Okay, now a word about the election.<\/p>\n I\u2019m on record as not being able to..in good conscience..vote for either of the two major presidential candidates\u2026and I didn\u2019t.<\/p>\n Rant all you like about not doing my civic duty. My abstention is a vote in itself because, in my view there\u2019s nothing good that could have come from a return of Hillary and Bill to the White House. (Are our memories that short?)<\/p>\n And, Donald Trump?<\/p>\n Well, the deed is done. \u00a0Just don\u2019t throw your love of God and country at me when explaining how rounding up families and shipping them out of the country is the Christian thing to do. Or that building walls, literally and figuratively for keeping the so-called undesirables out, is the American way.<\/p>\n It\u2019s easy to get people whipped up into a patriotic frenzy with speeches that promise to deal with our potential enemies by simply \u201cBombing the sh*t out of them.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 (Donald Trump Ft. Dodge, Iowa Nov.2015)<\/p>\n It\u2019s harder to use wisdom and restraint in exhausting every option before lighting the fuse to World War Three in which the only outcome is total annihilation of the human race..including our adorable grandkids.<\/p>\n But, that\u2019s just me.<\/p>\n On the brighter side, the leaves on our big yard have been picked up and hauled away for another season without me having to lift a finger..except to open the checkbook.<\/p>\n If you need any lawn work done, this guy certainly gets my recommendation for quality, efficiency and reasonable cost.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
